Poetry Friday (On Saturday)

Apologies for the delay. And don't forget to go over to Big A little a, where Kelly has the round up of poems.

I cannot stop thinking of the children being murdered in Pennsylvania in school, and the grace with which their families and community are dealing with the tragedy.

And then couldn't stop thinking of this poem.

A Refusal to Mourn the Death, by Fire, of a Child in London by Dylan Thomas

...

Deep with the first dead lies London's daughter,
Robed in the long friends,
The grains beyond age, the dark veins of her mother,
Secret by the unmourning water
Of the riding Thames.
After the first death, there is no other.

The entire poem is here.
